Field Crew Member Position

FMF is seeking a hardworking, dependable Field Crew Member to assist with the day-to-day operations of our flower farm. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in physical work, and appreciates the process of growing and harvesting high-quality flowers.

Field Crew Members are responsible for supporting field production, crop care, harvesting, and preparing flowers for customers. This position plays an important role in ensuring our flowers are grown, handled, and delivered with the highest quality standards.

This role may occasionally interact with customers during farm pickups, events, or on-site visits.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Field Production & Crop Care

• Assist with planting, maintaining, and caring for flower crops throughout the growing season

• Perform field maintenance tasks including weeding, bed preparation, irrigation management, and general crop care

• Apply approved sprays and treatments as directed for pest and disease management

• Monitor crop health and report issues to farm management

  
  

Harvesting & Post-Harvest Handling

• Harvest flowers according to quality and timing standards

• Process flowers after harvest including bunching, hydrating, and storing properly

• Prepare flowers for wholesale orders, florists, and other customers

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in harvest and processing areas

Farm Operations

• Assist with general farm maintenance and organization

• Help maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces

• Support seasonal farm projects as needed

• Occasionally assist with customer pickups or on-farm interactions

• Represent the farm professionally when interacting with customers or visitors

Physical Requirements

• This is a physically demanding outdoor position. Candidates must be able to:

• Stand, bend, and move for up to 8 hours per day

• Lift and carry buckets of flowers or supplies (approximately 25–40 lbs)

• Work comfortably in various weather conditions including heat, humidity, and light rain

• Perform repetitive tasks such as harvesting, bunching, and planting

  
  
  

Qualifications

• Ability to work efficiently and stay focused in an outdoor environment

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail

• Comfortable performing physical labor for extended periods

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed

• Interest in agriculture, flowers, or horticulture is preferred but not required
